temp.mag x Awaaz Leadership Labs
In January 2025, we invited 15 11 law students across India to choose a site they associate with law and justice in their neighbourhood, and return to it regularly over three months. We’re curious about the complex nature of things and the mundane routines that often reveal themselves to us over time.
This pilot study is ongoing for an initial phase of Feb-March-April and will culminate in a public art exhibit in August*.* Every Sunday we meet to share progress, discuss our findings, and learn from artists, lawyers and storytellers about their practices.

SOCH is a collective effort to document the everyday operations and conditions of our legal systems. The data collected from site studies is made open to students, organisations, lawyers, judges, policymakers, researchers, and all interested individuals.
The fellowship contributes to this larger effort. It emerged as an idea over conversations between Tammanna and Rohit, bringing together elements of both our interests and work.
temp.mag produces research and media that integrates place-based knowledge creation into decision-making frameworks and evidence-building practices. It aims to document the sights, sounds, colour, moods, and texture of a given space to learn more about how it works, and why it works the way it does.
Do you have an idea for a long-term study or evidence-building project? Write to Tammanna [email protected]
